Average cost for spring break vacation

We usually spend $20k for 5. Usually to the Caribbean for spring break.

We are in the middle, income wise, and will scale back travel this year. Last year for spring break, we went to Italy. With dirt cheap airfares ($750rt), points for a couple nights at a one of our hotels, we did the whole trip for under 7k for four people. This year, due to work conflict, we will not be doing spring break. If we could do spring break, it would probably be a domestic trip.

We alternate between really inexpensive trips (e.g., camping at state campgrounds) with expensive international trips. I think it probably works out to what others spend for an annual average vacation, but we don't spend equally on all travel. Some is splurgier than others.

This is us too. One year we might be in Italy or Asia for vacation, next year it’s OBX, Cspe Cod, or some National park out west. We enjoy all kinds of travel, including camping.
