Piles of cheap Chinese-made toys from Amazon. Just...why?! Why no-name, probably toxic "art supplies" in a gaudy plastic container my toddler can't even open herself when a box of washable Crayola crayons is less than $2? Why a puzzle for ages 7 and up for the same toddler (while her 8 year old sister got a Lego set for 4 year olds)? My ILs delight in giving us giant piles of cheap gifts, but every year 90% of it gets donated or thrown away (because it immediately falls apart). Would honestly 100% prefer no gifts, but they refuse to hear it.

This is pretty funny! It was wrong of the signmaker not to flag this. They’ll say it’s the client’s job to check the proof, but they should take some pride in their work.

Unfortunately, salt from some areas can have lead. I believe pink salt is especially prone to lead but I’m not sure.

In defense of fuzzy socks - my DD actually asks for them - especially if they have kitsch designs on them. I usually love all things simple but am learning to embrace fuzzy socks and other harmless ugly items that bring family joy or comfort …

My mother has a friend that lives on the other side of the country and sends her fuzzy socks every year along with a bunch of other gifts. My mom then in turn passes the socks on to my 14yr old ds. He LOVES fuzzy socks. He is incredibly hard on socks but also will not be seen without them. He doesn't care what the pattern is he will proudly wear them. I asked my mom why she doesn't let her friend know that she doesn't like fuzzy socks. She said Larla has fun shopping for them. She sends me gifts to bring me happiness. I get to pass the socks onto my grandson who truly enjoys them. That brings me happiness. So everyone comes out a winner. So, I hope everyone that got a gift they didn't love can find some happiness in passing it on to someone that will enjoy it.

Haha I’m the PP who doesn’t care for the fuzzy socks. I do know the giver loves to pick them out so I’m okay with it. Wearing them feels comfy enough, I have just accumulated a large collection over time!

What kind of relationship do y’all have with your spouses that you can’t mention it’s grammatically incorrect, and to ask for a new one to be ordered?

My partner is a little weird about gifts. I don't love it, but he is who he is. He'll ask half a dozen times if I really like something. If I don't use it right away, he'll become convinced that I hate it and beat himself up. He's not like this about other stuff, but he has very low self-gift-esteem. (I, on the other hand, am the master of gift giving. )

He would not notice if I replaced his sign with a corrected one. And everyone's happy. Isn't that the point?

You can be kind and respectful and point out that something is grammatically incorrect. My husband wouldn’t want me to spend my own money fixing his error for something that was meant to be a gift to me.
