The list of unwanted gifts

What gifts did you/your family get this year that are going into the Buy Nothing pile, the donation pile, or maybe even the trash?

-Those tall, cylindrical wafer cookies with chocolate inside
-Candles
-“Cookie kits” and “chili kits” and anything that involves dry ingredients in mason jars
-A huge marble run that has no place in our home; it’s seriously huge and I don’t understand how anyone could think we had room for it. Probably a regift.

I didn’t get any presents, so nothing.

DH bought me puffy pants that are 3 sizes too big. I don’t understand them.

We only have a white elephant gift exchange among adults, so I only have one gift to dispose of: Fancy salts from a family member's travel overseas. I like the idea and could use them, but I won't. I'll hold onto for a year just in case then throw away.

Face scrub brush similar to the Clarisonic (I have 1)
Mini speaker (have one)

I really loved all my presents though. I’d love those chili mixes in a mason jar you got.

I don’t understand not liking candles. I wouldn’t give one because I think they’re generic but if I received one I would use it.

Same. I love candles.

I always use the candles I get.
I already gave away the makeup remover washcloths I got. I’ve been gifted about 20 of them over the years. I don’t get them. Where am I supposed to put this ti u dirty washcloth after I take off my makeup? Also, I don’t wear a ton of makeup so it just use soap and water. I hate clutter.

I hate candles. I'm picky about scents, but also just don't like the fear that I will forget about them and leave them burning and somehow accidentally burn down the house

I worry more about giving unwanted gifts than receiving them - so I always ask family members for at least one major item they want.

Teachers are harder as we can’t ask them and have to go by general advice by teachers. I often read they don’t want more cups/ candles/ trinkets so give a lot of consumable items and gift cards. Not sure that hits the spot either.

For myself, I loved all my gifts - even the ridiculously oversized hat. It really is the thought that counts and many family and friends expressed love towards me over the holidays. Any gifts are just icing on the cake for me.

I hope everyone finds good new homes for any unwanted gifts.

I can’t think of anything. Usually I would say fuzzy socks, but no one gave them to me this year.

There is a toy with 200+ pieces that has already been annoying.

Haha I came here to write fuzzy socks.

A wooden snowman MIL “found at craft fair.” Except she left the manufacturer’s sticker on it and it’s a mass produced tchotchke sold in places like Michaels.

Oh and fuzzy socks from the Target $1 bin. They’re kid sized. 😂
