You pick the high school and they go to what ever is assigned. Both are fine. Pick the house and location you like. Both rich parent schools with little diversity. |
OP - tkx PP! |
OP - thanks PP; from what I know, Westland/ BCC is quite more diverse. |
| Bcc is more diverse than Westland. Silver Creek is more diverse than Westland and it also feeds into BCC. Only Pyle feeds into Whitman. For what it’s worth, I think the diversity is a major plus. |
also bcc has an IB program and open lunch |
OP - yes, the IB and more diversity are pro-factors for us too, but then I read some not so good things about BCC.... |
Absolutely. |
By "diverse" do you mean poor or black? |
No, but clearly that's how you define diversity. |
You are very narrow minded - I hope you know. |
Racist, much? |
So which is it, poor or black? |
OP here - in my case, more diversity means lots of things, one being economic diversity. I am a single mom, and cannot afford a house, so we always live in condo buildings. I am far from poor, but I do not live in a $ 2 million house either. That is the other reason I am considering Westland/BCC. |
| I’d recommend Westland based on your last post. Pyle has far less economic diversity, and middle school can be a hard time to feel different. It’s not that other kids will be mean about it, but it may make your child feel like they don’t fit in as well or feel bad if they can’t do some of the same things. Other kids who don’t have to worry about finances and money can be oblivious to the fact that others do, and that can feel bad. |
That makes sense. Thank you. While my question ruffled some progressive feathers, these racists mean poor or black when they say diverse. For instance they don't consider Churchill diverse because they count Asians as white, which is racist and insane. But that's progressives for you. |
