I am sympathetic to the Palestinians but I would be more sympathetic to them if I heard any of them blaming Hamas for this mess. When I see people interviewed on the news, they just blame Israel. How about blaming your own “government” that started this mess and is exacerbating it by hiding their weapons under children and violating a cease fire by shooting a bunch of people waiting for a bus? Why aren’t they marching in the streets for hamas to release the remaining hostages and turn in the kidnappers? Most of the young people taken at the music festival are still being held along with lots of grandpas.

And when a hostage escaped and hid, the Palestinians turned him in to Hamas.

Well the Israelis have killed 15,000 people. That number will double by this time next week. If a Palestinian approaches the IDF that Palestinian will be murdered. Remember only Israelis lives matter! A country that talks about the holocaust saying “never again” but is willing to commit genocide of 7 million Palestinians for living space is really messed up.

Biden deserves to lose. His actions in Israel are just a cheap political prop to gets vote. It has blown up on him. Netanyahu and every member of his right wing coalition plan was to depopulate or kill all the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.

Hamas could surrender at any minute. They choose not to. Also, there was a cease fire in place when the October incident happened. Will Hamas super, duper promise not to break it this time? The leaders have stated multiple times that this was a calculated move to bring sympathy and attention to the Palestinian movement. I guess that part of the attack worked.

I think Americans are showing their privilege when they pull stuff like this. Sharing a border with someone you are at war with isn't something we can truly understand. But if Canada suddenly attacked us, I'd want our government to do whatever necessary to insure it didn't happen again.

The US is not at war with Hamas. Not our circus, not our monkeys.

And while Israel is our ally—as the only non-Arab democracy in the middle of (let’s face it) chaotic Arab nations with a lot of anti-American/anti-western animosity that sometimes prompts religious-extremism fueled terrorism and war—the US most certainly is NOT the boss of Israel.

If the privileged actress wants to make a difference in this conflict, she should first educate herself and then connect with a nonprofit or faith community to assist.

Before she does that, she might want to google where these folks stand on lgbtq rights…in case that matters to her.

The gay comic Daniel Ryan Spaulding who is currently in nyc for a stint has helpfully posted a number of Instagram videos distilling the conflict for the lgbtq community. Someone might want to tweet links to her in case she’s too famished to pull them up.

It’s not privilege to want to stop a genocide. It’s being a human.

Does she explain why she is so passionate about this particular issue? There are many important issues, including this one. I’m just wondering why this particular one is the one that she will give up food for.

At one point she tried to enter politics. Her loss created a huge and unexpected upset. I’m sure that was something that was tough for her. She appears to be very passionate about political issues.

I'm about to make some pancakes to pick up her slack.

Please stop describing Israel as a democracy. It's an apartheid state and even Jews don't have full rights. Some Jews depending on how religious you are cannot be conscripted and they were overhauling their judiciary system right before this happened. Israel is not a democratic state

In terms of Cynthia Nixon, she is a has been and may be using this opportunity for her own PR but I don't care. Whatever it takes. It's ridiculous that US dollars are being used to fuel this death and destruction. It has nothing to do with the United States and yet our butts are on the line for funding this now.

Rwanda was a genocide (with deaths far in excess of 15K). What China is doing to the Uighur people is genocide.

What's happening with Hamas and Israel is war and why war is bad. Hamas has said over and over they wanted to incite Israel into exactly this conflict with exactly these casualties. Again, if they don't like the outcome, they can surrender.

We understand the threat loud and clear. Any attack against us, we will be told we deserve it for our support of Israel (whatever that means, Israel is an independent country)

NP. Seriously. I can’t even take people like this seriously. Like this actress, they sound spoiled and clueless and entitled.
