You should always wash your lettuce. There are videos of lettuce being dug up from the earth and bagged right in the field. https://www.reddit.com/r/Cooking/comments/nak2mu/no_matter_what_the_pack_says_wash_the_veggies/

Triple washed, torn salad mixes are not being prepared and packaged in the fields. You must be talking about lettuce that’s still intact. That needs to be rinsed thoroughly.

You are always supposed to rinse the bagged lettuce. https://www.today.com/health/recall/wegmans-recall-kale-microgreens-salmonella-rcna63593

Respectfully, you cannot wash off salmonella, and if you think that, your food safety knowledge is putting your family at risk.

the point is -- you don't trust the "triple washed" ad! THis also happened on Oct. 23. https://www.pennlive.com/food/2023/10/salad-kits-recalled-from-wegmans-because-of-allergy-risk.html. If wegmans can't manage testing for salmonella in its "triple washed" bag, imagine what ELSE is wrong with it. Why would you ever trust such a claim? Of course we wash it. takes seconds.

Is that the point? The point of the article was that lettuce can be contaminated with salmonella. Washing it doesnt help that. You could wash this lettuce 230000 times and still get salmonella poisoning. Focus on things you *can* help.

Bruh that's undisclosed egg in salad dressing, not salmonella.

Please ask your mother to discuss with you after you read, before you talk to strangers. You can't learn if you never check for understanding.

I have to wash it with the “organic” apple cider, rinse and dry before making the salad every time when my “super clean” SIL comes to visit. I don’t mind and I do it.
I’m not a sloppy person either. I can even assure that my bathroom is super clean compared to her own kitchen.
During TG week, she asked if it’s washed and had to respond: if she doesn’t trust, she can do it her way. So sick of it already. Each time or each TG is the same BS.
There are other more small things that gets to me. I don’t want to disclose in case she reads this forum.
