If is the nanny's adult kids then it's fine. Dumbo Use the phone, we use it for everything, it takes a little time like eating your boogers |
I know lots of nannies who doesn't have a good English and worked for tons of families in Bethesda, Rockville, around here too and DC. Families keeps staying in touch with them, sends photos of their graduation for example. I know 20 years old people who still are in touch with their nannies. It's very sweet! There are many excellent workers out there and don't need to have a perfect English. What matters are the skills and the love and care these nannies gives. I know Americans living in other countries and don't know the language. And they are mostly treated well, even some Hispanics knows a bit of English or the Americans uses an translator app or device or tries to speak a bit of Spanish Use the technology! We live in an interconnected world Not in a bubble |

Also many Americans travels to other countries for their Universal Healthcare and affordable college.
Like in many European countries, Israel and many Latinoamérican countries. They have programs to help foreignors. If you have dual citizenship like from Sweden too then you can study free college in Sweden. A friend paid $70 euros for a 5 day stay in a German HOSPITAL. We all live in an interconnected world |
We've only had Spanish speaking nannies and our children speak perfect Spanish, like natives speakers. This more than outweighs the inevitable problem about not being able to explain how the high tech appliance works the first time around. To the person who would rather have their children speak French, you're stuck in the 1950s. There are less than 2MM French speakers in the US vs. close to close to 100MM Spanish speakers. Besides, you can just send your children to Rochambeau (if you can afford it). |
Does your mommy know you went online all yourself? |
See how easy is to text someone, it takes so little tiny small short T I M E Use technology, that's why you're one your phone mostly |
Spanish is for the underclass. Our children speak French and have a French/English -speaking nanny.
Spanish speakers are too lazy to learn English. They do not set a good example around children. . |
Our kid is thriving at school. Spanish is awesome Tutu benne? |
Reminded me of a very lazy nanny that spoke French and always made the kid sleep at the park and not on his comfy crib That's lazy |
And heartless.
I rather hire someone caring with little English |
What it matters is the heart and love for kids
We don't need more Aholes . The world is already burning |
It only takes a little, tiny, small short AMOUNT of T I M E put in each day to actually learn English correctly. Use technology, that’s why you’re ON your phone mostly. Focus on yourself. |
I did this, it worked, not without hiccups of course, I asked my Spanish fluent neighbor/daughter’s father/grandmother to be present for monthly/quarterly conversations on feedback etc. lots of things get lost in phone translation. |
Yes, this is a concern, I made sure my nanny had an emergency card in English with all my info and my child’s info with picture in case she needed it. |
