What age did your kids find their "thing"?

A little good at lots of things. That's ok.

And there is no need to force them to try every sport under the sun or start an instrument at age 6. Do what’s reasonable, and they will be exposed to many things via school (instruments, plays, different sports). This isn’t to say do nothing… but if your kid is having fun playing soccer, let them play it both fall and spring and don’t worry they aren’t formally doing another sport. There is value to enjoying the now.

You say that like starting at instrument at 6 is early! Plenty of kids start at 3.

Age 18 months. It was eating! It was apparent that he loved food. He ate every type of food we put in front of him and now, as an 11 year old, he is always eager to try new foods and his favorite food is expensive sashimi. He will eat tongue, liver, chicken feet, fish eyeballs, uni, etc. He is also a a sporty kid who enjoys two club sports and is a good student. But I’m pretty sure his career path lies in the food or dining industry. He watches cooking shows, he writes his own restaurant reviews, he dreams about food.

My oldest is in K this year so I'm starting to wonder about this.

My son found his "thing" when we started potty training. Took him months to get over the novelty of it and stop playing with it.

At age 6 I've determined my son has a "thing" for swimming and gymnastics. Hes been in swimming, gymnastics, t ball and skating. Skating brings tears and t ball brings boredom.
