Modern townhouse, and the black and white friend, is going to scream “pandemic era” trend.

It’s gonna look dated soon. Opt for contemporary beiges, if you must use white, use Green as a shutter complement.

modern farmhouse has nothing to do with black windows and gray floors. that's a separate trend, that started with the gray trend (which predated modern farmhouse) and then moved to all white, and then, black and white. these trends coincided in time but there is nothing about farmhouse that demands gray floors.

Chip and Joanna Gaines (almost billionaires) merged those trends and now people are shying away from it. Barn doors, reclaimed furniture, etc..

again, barn doors are one thing, gray floors another. White House with black windows is yet another, separate trend. honestly I don’t even think there was that many gray floors in gaines’ designs. and while barn doors etc, and grey floors are out of style, black-white trend is still alive. this is why people see all these white houses around. they don’t necessarily have gray floors and barn doors inside (sometimes they do but often because it’s cheaper, on sale as a part of dying trend, not because it’s a design choice).
