Consider hair transplant in Istanbul Turkey. It’s very successful industry and at fraction of the cost. |
| A lot of younger guys are wearing toupees. They are now made in quite high quality and similar to wigs and look great. There are a few social media channels that are just young guys getting toupees or hair pieces or whatever they call them. |
| doubt that |
| This, doubt this --> No one should be balding in this day and age - there are plenty of choices to prevent it. |
How does one prevent it? |
| I would look into one of those red light helmets. |
| My DH has more hair now at 62 than he had at 32 because he started Romaine and Propecia and has never stopped |
My husband did. I just couldn't touch the propecia. No issues |
| My DS takes oral minoxidal. It helps but not 100%. I would say it slowed down the loss pretty drastically but not completely. His doctor proscribed propecia, but I was worried about the reproductive effects. Maybe I am mistaken. |
| I thought that propecia causes ED? I would think young men would want to avoid. |
| I haven't read all the responses but after looking at photos from high school DS21 went to a dermatologist for prescriptions. I don't remember what they gave him but I think it's a combination of oral and topical prescriptions. I wouldn't see a family doctor for this. |
Rogaine is topical minoxidal, right? Is it optimal effects if rogaine is combined with oral minoxidal or oral finasteride? And does one or the other of oral minoxidal vs oral finasteride cause more of the sexual dysfunction side effects? Thanks for the help. |
|
Finasteride can cause sexual side effects (along with dutasteride which is a similar hair loss med). Minoxidil can cause cardio/nervous system side effects. Both sound effective but the side effects would give anyone great pause I would think. Topical versions of them are not as effective but can be used, however those side effects can still occur as the topicals enter the blood stream.
Hair transplant in Turkey seems like a good option except I read men (who got fantastic results) were still advised to go on finasteride to keep it up, which is a bummer if that’s something most transplant patients have to do. |

I will say the people at r/bald are so positive to people with hairloss it makes you feel just a little bit better about humanity.

| I wouldn't mess around with treatments. He should just hit the weight room and get jacked instead. It's a great look. |
