Why does he regret? |
My husband started using Rogaine at 30. He’s 50 now and it literally stopped his hair loss. |
Has he seen a dermatologist? My younger brother started losing his hair in college. He’s 38 now and still has hair; it’s thin but it’s present and looks decent. I think he has done a variety of things including propecia and rogaine. He also had very poor nutrition (raised on McDonalds and Taco Bell) growing up and during college; that likely didn’t help, and I know the Derm also started him on some super basic otc supplement. |
+1 The one guy I know who started balding in college started using it then and never stopped - he’s 51 and still has hair. |
Balding genes, mostly from maternal grandfather. |
Some plastic surgeons’ offices do prp. They draw your blood, take out the plasma and inject into your scalp. (Painful) Supplements like nutrafol.
The best hair restoration example is Elon Musk. |
DP: Not in our family. It clearly is coming down the paternal line. |
I’m not the pp. but can look very unnatural as you lose hair and the only hair left is the hair plug hair. If doing transplants, likely need to do with other things like rogain and prp and nutrafol. |
Highly unlikely. Probably from your side, your dad specifically. https://www.vox.com/2014/7/30/5948661/male-pattern-baldness-genetics-heritability |
The male pattern baldness gene is polygenic, and baldness comes from both sides of the family. |
any hair transplant will have to account for future balding. only politicians can get away with plugs in front, wisps on the sides and dome everywhere else.
advice? lift weights, earn lots of money, be confident and kind. |
NP. My family, too. My dad had a combover by 30. My maternal grandfather had a lush full head of hair until his death in his 70s |
My college sophomore DS came home this summer with massive hair loss. It was kind of horrifying, as he had thick curly hair up until recently. But he is (as the PP said) confident and kind, so he addressed it head on, no pun intended. Saw his primary who put him on propecia. I also bought him Rogaine cream based on advice here. Hair is hanging on for now. |
Definitely Rogaine and worth asking about the oral version. |
The rich Barstool guy Dave Portnoy was pretty open about getting a hair transplant. I believe for a bald crown, but I could be wrong. He tweeted and maybe even did videos about first doing it and then having to go back six or seven years later to get it filled in again. His hair looks good. |
