NP. People dying aren’t necessarily opioid abusers or addicts. They might be dumb and take a pill once a die. You are naive if you think this coukdjt happen to your kid or their friends. |
To the doctor? They will be dead before they get there. They might die before paramedics arrive. |
You would think the fact that young children accidentally ingest things would be an argument FOR having the medication that treats accidental ingestions, not against. |
|
I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but I find the amount of ignorance about fentanyl and narcan on this thread alarming.
People please educate yourselves just a little bit. |
You are clearly showing your complete ignorance. There are no side effects to Narcan to people who have not used opioids (including children). Next time please do a tiny bit of research before running your mouth--you sound stupid. |
| Are you the same people who think withholding condoms will lead to abstinence? That's not how it works. This thread is shocking. And have all of you really never done pot as a teenager? |
|
Go see Tony Hoffman talk. Even the “I’m a good parent so I don’t need to worry about anything” crowd. It’s worth a listen.

Lol, we did stuff as teens that our parents had no clue about and still don’t. They’d say we were all very good kids. |
Please tell us where a grownup who doesn't usually (never) do drugs, got it in their system? Died alone, 'on feet' after being out in a club. Was alone, so nobody could help. |

My DH is a local journalist who is out on the streets regularly. He keeps one dose in his car and one in his bag as he sees overdoses a few times a year. Hasn't had to use it yet.
He got it at the DC Fire Department vending machine near National Park. |
| More benign-seeming (to teens) drugs can be laced. “Good” kids get curious. It happens ALL the time. |
| This Narcan post comes out every couple of months or so. It’s tiresome. |
OP here and I've never posted anything about Narcan before. Perhaps it's posted every few months because it's relevant to all of us with teens. |
NP here Terrible analogy. Not knowing how to swim is not illegal. Doing illegal drugs is illegal. I have no problem with my kids hanging out with non-swimmers. I do have a problem with them hanging out with criminals. |
| Ofc. Just like a fire extinguisher, an EpiPen, and the AED we put in the office. This is a standard first aid item. |
