Not weird at all if you are a parent considering it for your child. The proof is in the pudding. If no child is going to highly selective colleges or only a couple each year are , that tells you something. Also telling if these are also the recruits for athletes where they are attending. They will posting signing pictures on the school SM sometimes and you can see that is their particular hook, which may not apply to your daughter.

Hon, you can't afford the school anyway. It is $40k. So stick to the public high school where you are already enrolled and stop pretending to "weigh your options" - no one is believing you. HC is not an option for you.

DP. You are horrible person, (alleged) HC mom. You have been all over HC threads making the school look terrible. I feel really bad for the nice families at HC that you are the one representing them on this board. It is a huge turn off for prospective parents. So keep acting like an immature (and not very smart) mean girl and like will attract like. Not to mention the fact that all the rigorous schools in the area are 55k and here you are bragging about how someone can’t afford the 40k!! I guess that’s expensive in your oh so “wealthy” community. Lol.

Yikes...this HC parent is the worst. So glad we chose another more academically challenging girls school for our daughter. Seems like it is not only more challenging, but the community more welcoming and, well, decent people.

I'll take it a step further. While we always hear about how most ivy and top 20 admissions are due to either legacy or athletics, it seems HC families don't have either of these things going for it. At the very least, if they don't have any strong athletes, you would think with such a "wealthy" community, there would be plenty of ivy legacy situations there. That says a lot about their poor matriculations.

Umm no. It says unlike you, they have enough money to not worry about where their kids will go to school because they will be ok financially regardless.

No, no it doesn’t. Very wealthy people don’t settle. Hence, the varsity blues scandal, the elite university buildings named after wealthy families. I could go on and on. My child will have a 10s of millions dollar trust coming to them. They are grinding it out at a rigorous private right now and you can bet we are going to do everything we can to get them into an elite university. It sounds like you are more in the moderate wealthy segment where you leave your kid the family construction business or the cute little commercial real estate firm with a strip mall.

Or they just marry their beautiful daughters off to some other wealthy guy who works in the family construction business. Probably went to Prep or Gonzaga. That sounds like it's more up the PP's alley honestly.

Holy Child girls receive very high personality scores at the top colleges. This is on top of getting a top notch education.

Well, maybe I'm in the minority but $40,000 is a heck of a lot of money for my family. So glad it's just a drop in the bucket for most enrolled families.
