We hired a mobile coffee truck for the first and only toddler party we hosted. I'm still looking for an excuse to do it again.

I can’t imagine caring about this. They don’t need to stuff themselves at a 2 hr party. A cupcake and whatever else is fine. I certainly don’t want pizza and cake myself. We have food at our house if they are hungry after the party.

I don’t understand this. If there’s extra cake or cupcakes or whatever, of course I’ll take one if all the kids have already been served. But I don’t go to a mid day kids birthday party, usually between meals, to eat pizza and snacks. And I never see the other adults eating either.

I haven't seen cake and ice cream at a party in decades. It was common in the 80s but nobody does it now. Especially at the venue parties, there is no freezer for ice cream.

We had one party at our house and did cake and ice cream. Ice cream is delicious with cake but yes, party venues don’t usually have the ability to serve it. If they offered it, I’d definitely add that on.

I am an immigrant and I come from a culture here hospitality is taken seriously. e are taught to be inclusive and food is always abundant. I am horrified how uncivilized and uncouth people are here. They do not have even basic manners or etiquettes of hosting. The funny part is that everyone boasts about how rich they are but in reality they are poor and miserly people. Utterly disgusting.

I'd tell you to go back home, but that would be cruel to countryfolk who are finally rid of you.

I get it-kid parties are expensive. But come on.

Personally I believe you should also have food for the adults when it’s not a drop off party but I know that’s a debate that’s been discussed numerous times. But at least have enough food for the kids!

Most recently I attended one that had 25 Kids in attendance and 3 pizzas. About 90% of the kids asked for seconds. And there wasn’t even enough for the first round as they had to cut a piece in half to have enough. Ridiculous.

Exactly. Anytime there has been food offered every parent turns it down. And other snacks are never eaten either. Many venue parties are 90 mins. and and adult should be able to go 90 mins without eating.

And as long as the kids get the cake they are happy.
