+1 sadly, true. You can get almost anything that they produce there here in the US. It may cost more, but it's the same. And then there's Amazon. Really, who could tell the difference, even locally produced art.

When I was in Florence 20 yrs ago, I bought some locally produced art. But, if I went there today, I wouldn't bother buying it. Globalization made getting things from Europe not that special.

This will surprise some people, but i usually get mushroom bouillon cubes, and other flavors you can't get here. Lots of interesting fun items at grocery stores.
