Interesting article considering it’s from Bari Weiss’ Free Press and not something more “woke”

The free press (not the Detroit free press, which is a credible paper, but whatever this link is) has a research problem. Most sources have Angel Rees as the highest earning women's basketball player and this article has no cites saying otherwise

Because they are former basketball players while Reese is a current player.

In that case, Candice Parker is probably the top earning former player.

Ok? The article isn't really about top earning players current or former.

So they aren't current players and aren't the top earning former players. The current player with the highest earnings is a great player who just won a national championship, so there goes the only pretty girls sell part. What is the point of the article? As far as I can see it's that two instagram models also played college basketball

It's saying the pretty girls who aren't the best athletes are making more money. The twins were never outstanding basketball players so why are they making so much? Olivia Dunne is also mentioned and she isn't the best gymnast but she's got lucrative deals. So the "NCAA has a problem" is the point the author is trying to make but it's not clear how successful she is at making her point.

Ethan is a "she"?

He/she/they who can tell these days?

"They" or // is a good choice if you don't know.

Right. In this thread full of misogny I'll get right on that.

And I'm sorry but they look and sound like men. They are not attractive at all unless you're into muscular women with masculine faces, no boobs, and "bro" lexicon...

There's a lid for every pot. Why does it bother you so much? You aren't their targeted demographic.

I thought so too!! They look SO OLD. Overly tanned and haggard.

It’s because they are from Arizona and are former d1 athletes but are LDS so their genetics is mostly from England/Scandinavia (not much sunlight up there and lots of moisture in the air).

too much Sun for their genes and too much weight training/protein shakes.

Really? They talk about "God" a lot in their content, but their online personas are so not LDS-approved.

Are they lapsed LDS? Their discussions about religion feel very performative. I can't imagine them attending every weekend at their local Miami ward.

The title is "hot" and they are literally not.

They’re fit and blonde. That’s “hot” to a good number of people, hence their internet fame.

In the world of D1 athletes they are like a 8/10. It's a different league than general "hot" without the athletic abilities. The better athletes aren't getting the recognition because they are less hot.

Right?? I am the type of plain curly brown-haired woman who never gets hit on... until I wore a blonde wig on Halloween. "You're gorgeous, you're beautiful"
I have NEVER been called beautiful by random people even when I was 18 years old. Blonde hair covers any faults.

Seems like the Cavender twins (with dark roots) have taken the "must be blonde" note to heart.

It's odd the article didn't mention Olivia Dunne from LSU. She is the top female NIL earner with $3.2 million.

The crazy thing is to top two in revenue from NIL deals is Bronny James ($7.6 million) and Arch Manning ($3.7 million). Neither one of them have even played a single game in college.

She WAS until the women from LSU basketball won the championship!! Look up Angel Reese !! Way more than Olivia.

I did. It's not way more. It's less than half from several sources.

May 19, 2023 — Angel's net worth in 2023 is $5 Million. Angel played basketball at this college until the year 2022. Angel then transferred to the LSU Tigers ... SportsUnfold
