We have a 2200 sqft beach house that feels huge for our family of 4. Probably 3000 sqft with my husband's desire for storage space. |
Hehe. Never understood why Americans think it’s ok to drive solo in mega Suburban type SUVs but residing in relatively large homes represents a wasteful mindset. |
3,000-3,500 sq feet
And that's for everything, not these posters who are saying that number plus a finished basement and screened porches etc. It's also worth noting how important design/layout is. No one wants 4,000 sq feet of open concept. But a house with multiple rooms allows for much more flexibility over the years. |
There's only 3 of us so 3 bedrooms would be fine, but I work from home so I need a home office and I'd love to have a real home gym. It would be great to have a 1500 sq ft main house, and a completely separate building with space for a gym, office and another bath. I'd only really heat and cool that when I'm using it.
Where can I build this? |
