you are turning lactose into carbs -- but she should get lactose from dairy products. |
This is OP again, I appreciate all of the advice. This is my third kid but the older two are in elementary so it’s hard for me to remember my previous weight loss trajectories. I am going to stop weighing myself/stressing for a few months, but continue with the good habits, and then reevaluate.
|
People come up with the looniest stuff to try to justify the low carb nonsense. Absolutely clueless. |
This happens to me, OP. My body just won’t shed weight. I eat healthy, exercise, do allll the things. My weight just won’t budge. I try to focus on feeling better, not just the number. |
Someone may have mentioned this - but you said you are slowly weaning? that could be it. Breastfeeding burns a ton of calories. You'll gain weight when you wean unless you dramatically increase the exercise or cut back on your food.
This is (partially) why I breastfed/pumped for a year! LOVED that calorie burn.... |
That's a good focus. And this is a good reminder that weight isn't simply a function of inputs and outputs. |
OMG THREE POUNDS IS WAHT YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT? -thats a big poop or because you are weaning your period may return or water retention or any other number of things. |
you are so incredibly wrong I CANT EVEN. "The breast milk generally consists of 87% water, 3 to 5% fats, 6.9 to 7.2% lactose, 0.8 to 0.9% proteins, vitamins, minerals, and bioactive substances." Breastfeeding moms need to increase- if bfing full time on -demand- by 500 calories split between carbs and fat you dumb four-letter-word. Thats on top of their necessary energy intake without any caloric restrictions until 12 weeks because of repair and rebuild from pregnancy and childbirth. |
wtf you are an idiot. THAT IS NOT HOW THAT WORKS!!!!!!! |
Ten weeks is so early. Just give yourself a break OP. As we get older the baby weight may take longer to come off, so don't compare this to your other pregnancies. |
NP, but my yogurt has 4g of carbs and a banana is 25-30g. A cup of boring white rice (which OP didn’t mention) is 45g. Your numbers don’t add up. |
Most yogurts are 27g. Add in Anything Else that isn’t protein - an apple, crackers, bagel, pasta salad. Sweet Potato, hummus, tortilla chips, quinoa and you are also over on your carbs PP. and that’s why you aren’t losing weight and leaning out either. You can keep trying to prove the numbers wrong or you can change your diet and go down a pant size idrc |
+1000 The misinformation in this thread is out of control. |
I love that smoothie. Gonna make it tomor for breakfast. |
Hi, OP again: the scale is finally moving and I’m down five pounds since I posted this. Want to note that breastfeeding for me has never been a weight loss aid - it’s almost like I am fighting with my body to not hold onto excess weight.
I still drink wine, I still eat dessert occasionally. I don’t have any absolutes. I am focused on being more active generally, but don’t have a consistent workout routine - just fitting in workouts when I can. I still generally try to keep breakfast and lunch protein and veg based, and will eat a bit of whatever for dinner. Thanks all for the suggestions. |
