Yeah, that would be establishing California non-residency, the CC's are happy to charge out-of-state rates and they check and have longer waiting periods than most. That designation transfers to the 4-year school. |
Merced was established to serve Hispanic students. And it does. As does Riverside. |
Some Cal Poly SLO majors are just as good as Berkeley’s. When you take into account that SLO’s tuition is $10,195 for California residents as compared to Berkeley’s $15,444, it’s quite a bargain. |
| My child is at UCLA now. Had a 4.0 UW GPA and a few AP exams - I think two 5’s and a 4. So far they’ve gotten most of the classes they wanted - did not have to sign up for 10 backups as a PP suggested. And UCLA now guarantees 4 years of on-campus housing. |
Each UC has different living costs as do the Cal states. Cal Poly's living cost is about $16k right now and totals out for In state at around $30k. While UCLA is going to be more than this, some of the other UC will cost around $28-32K so THE SAME |
Wrong. Total cost of attendance in-state at Cal Poly is $16,449. |
SLO only guarantees one year of housing is for most majors, and the lottery odds are low, maybe 30%. |
| Try for UC Santa Barbara. It’s a lovely campus. |

Drinking early and well into the evening, I see. |
Fair request |
Read the fine print on that…you’ve got to really want to be in LA to put up with what passes for “on-campus housing” at UCLA. |
+1 And great programs too! |
