No. They don't involve criminals until they are mass shooters. The guy was not robbing a bank -- he was expressing an emotional grievance by killing people.

It's taking them a long time to reveal the shooter's identity. All I've heard/read is that the shooter was an employee or former employee of the location.

Criminals can kill more people with guns than with other weapons. And suicide and accident can also occur more often with guns. People don't usually die from problems cleaning their knives.

If we can get a bipartisan agreement for massive public funding of mental health care infrastructure, I'd call it a win -- even if I think that guns are the larger part of the mass killing problem. Independent of these shootings, we need better mental health care in this country.

The Christian school shooter was in treatment for mental health. She was allowed to purchase 7 guns including assault rifles. Gun owners should have to go through background checks and show they are capable of using guns safely. You can keep your damn guns, just don’t give them out like candy.
