His father would be ashamed of where the country is now.

In a post-Trump America with rising white nationalism and religious fundamentalism and Maga idiocy, he sure would be.

You have no idea who Kennedy was.

He was a Harvard educated wealthy pious Catholic cultured liberal who quoted the ancient Greeks, was philosophical and well-read, and came to a midlife realization that his calling was to help the poor and the downtrodden and to fight against injustice, especially racial injustice. Coarse and boorish Trump would have been anathema to him. MAGA would have called him a coastal elitist.

I generally like the Kennedys but Harvard has played a big role in giving us the most awful lawyers and government officials. I wouldn’t use that education to defend him. Plus, his essay in its entirety was basically “I’d like the status please” and it worked. Harvard has screwed our country over many times.

You know the above is describing RFK senior, right? Not Jr who is still alive today. The RFK who was assassinated.

Why? He is crazy,!

Kids don’t - and never did - need the Covid vaccine.

+ 1 Y'all cain't take away mah freedom.

He was big on the autism vaccine lie. He’s a twit who rides on the coattails of relatives.

I used to think it was a lie. After the Covid vaccine lies, I now have my doubts.

No. These threads are hard to follow on my phone and the hidden quotes make it harder.

My point though is that Harvard has unleashed some of the worst a-holes on our country so I’d never use that to defend someone.

Great, let’s order you up some measles with a side of polio.

Oh? Here’s his platform. Doesn’t sound like Trump to any sentient person.

“He has guided more important legislation through Congress than did any of his predecessors in the past 30 years. He has made the Federal Government, for the first time, a vigorous enemy of organized crime. He has pushed equal rights for all Americans..."
“We must reform the flagrant tax loopholes which enable too many Americans to escape their fair share of the cost of shaping our nation's destiny.”
“We must close the gaps between black and white, rich and poor, young and old in this country and around the world.”
“Government must join in a partnership with industry, permitting private enterprise to help solve the problems of housing and unemployment in our deprived areas."
“We will reestablish our domestic tranquility only when we resume our march toward full constitutional justice -- so that every American citizen has a fair chance at a job and an education and a decent place to live."

Kennedy and his mother, Ethel, care much more about racial justice than all these faux liberals around here who put up Black Lives Matter signs whilst not wanting anything to do with working class black and brown people in their social lives or in their kid’s school districts. Like his father, RFK Jr. actually walks the walk. Ask Black folks in Southeast what they think of RFK Jr. and his mother and I guarantee they have a higher opinion of him that Pete Buttigieg or whatever great milquetoast, neoliberal, corporatist hope these cretins on here try and shove down people’s throats.

We’ve got enough hindsight and distance now to look back on the vaccines (developed under Trump, btw) to be able to honestly admit there were some real problems and real dangers with those vaccines. The fact they trump cooked them up is all you need to know to be skeptical of them.

But it is really, really not cool to be attacking a Kennedy like this. Not cool at all. All of you should be ashamed.

Can we PLEASE have a viable democrat running who is under the age of 65? The presidency is not your retirement hobby!!

Is this satire? Why is so verboten (in your mind) to criticize the Kennedys? You sound completely looney.

No one cares about the Kennedys unless they are 70+ at this point. This guy is out there and no one wants that. Doubt even his own family would vote for him.

That “it doesn’t cause blood clots” and “doesn’t cause GB syndrome” - both of which were proven to be, if not outright lies, than inconvenient mistruths , within weeks of the vaccines getting widespread use.

As for myocarditis and “sudden unexplained death syndrome”, well, where there’s smoke there’s fire.

These vaccines were developed under Trump. There was a time when Joe Biden told us he too was very skeptical of them for that reason.

Have we really all just mentally walled that off? I haven’t.

And COVID causes all those things at a much higher rate.

It is a mistake to think of COVID as a single disease. The different strains are different. Paxlovid is now readily available for treatment/prevention of complications.
