Comments seem to be all over the place though.

It hasn’t gotten any better. We left too because of it.

Can you say more? We haven’t heard this and are considering. Thanks.

I’m not going to share specifics but recommend steering clear until there’s major leadership change from the top down.

I can elaborate a little. Admin treats people terribly. Then they leave because they don't want to be treated that way. Admin puts on a good show so most people don't realize others are treated terribly. Then they experience it themselves-- and they leave. Gradually more people hear about how others are treated. They don't want to be treated that way so they clam up-- or they leave. Or they protest and admin treats them terribly-- forcing them to leave. Rinse and repeat.

OP here. I'm not going to say what my public option is. TMI. What I will say is that we're talking about starting Lowell in the early grades. We weren't really thinking about high school when we applied to lower schools because it seemed so far away but now that we're in we're wondering if it's worth paying for 8+ years only to be shut out of the better privates for high school. We are knew to this.

Do you care AT ALL about the educational experience your child has K-8 or is this 100% about where they can get into private HS?

This is the question. If you’re gunning for Big 3 admission, your odds are not fabulous at Lowell. Possible, yes. Probable, no. But for a nice community and focus on educating the whole child, it can offer a great experience.

Agreed. For a school that touts itself as a nurturing place for curious learners, don't dare ask any questions that hint you disagree with admin decisions. It's almost a cult like environment.

It has become that way. Didn’t used to be so.
