I look forward to voting for you when the slate comes out! What position are you running for? (signed: ex PTA officer who got criticized over almost everything, just like most PTA volunteers) |
In what ways do you help the PTA plan events? The school is very large and few families help with these events. It’s the same families doing it all. Do your part! |
There has been a lot of teacher turnover since the virtual year, including some teachers who left mid-year this year (one was a very young "resident teacher" and that was not a surprise to anyone). I haven't heard of many teachers leaving at the end of this year, though. |
The PTA is still looking for board members for next year. I hope you volunteer so that you can get all of these awesome events you want up and running. |
Can't wait to see your name on the website on the committee for all of these awesome sounding events, PP!! Thank you so much for volunteering. Please contact the current Board and express your interest in taking on a big role next year!! Really appreciate your help with everything!!! |

As you can see OP, the Shrevewood PTA doesn’t get many volunteers and as a result, you may not have the same type of school events you’d see at other schools. Some people don’t like that; you may not care.

Shrevewood has a diverse population and very few SAHMs. I think that will probably change as the demographics shift (houses are much more expensive than they used to be, schools will be rezoned in 5-7 years, etc.), but yes, it is hard to find volunteers when most families have two full-time working parents. |
This is true, but you do not need to be a SAHM to volunteer and do your part. Ask me how I know. |
Unfortunately several families in my kid’s grade left for private during Covid. At least a few of these families were active in volunteering. |
Absolutely true, and I also work full time and volunteer, but the schools that have all of the things PP is talking about are the ones with a higher income population and more SAH parents. |
