What is your worst sports parent story?

He called her a whore and other things I will not ever say, over and over again. It took all my might. not to break his dam hotel door room down.

We were at a tournament, he was the only dad that came with the team. We wanted the girls to have some fun and there was a cute ice cream shop right next to the hotel. It was 8 pm.

His beef she would not get enough rest for a tournament. Big whoop. I will never forget this as long as I live. Explaining to my own child our rooms were next to each other was pretty darn awful.

Verbal abuse is a million times worse than physical abuse. I cannot imagine calling any child derogatory names.

One of our team's dads was berating his kid and other kids on the field during games. Our parent manager asked him very nicely to take it down a notch. The dad argued and asked if they needed to take it off the field and fight. Then the paid coach asked him to cool it, and the dad threatened to sue. The dad was banned from coming to anymore games if he wanted his son to stay on the team.

During a travel soccer tournament, we were all sitting in our calls during a weather break waiting for a storm to pass. All of a sudden, we hear that about five cars up from ours a mom pulled and flashed a gun at some guys flying up and down the road on mopeds. A number of players saw this. Fortunately, the situation was de-escalated, but really scary nonetheless.

Much less scary, but still terrible, at another travel soccer game, a dad on the opposing team was harassing the sideline ref (a teenage girl) over some calls and eventually was told to leave the game. Afterwards, while waiting in the parking lot he followed her to her car, yelling in her face. It was awful and the parents from his team had to pull him away.
