When will the restaurants in “downtown” McLean get better?

Vienna and McLean both have lots of kids and lots of people in their late 30s on up, though McLean skews older because it's more expensive. Neither has a lot of people between 18-35, so they aren't trying to compete with Arlington in terms of bars and restaurants (though Tysons is trying to start to do so in spots).

As long as there are a few nice places people can go to, and good grocery stores, people in Vienna and McLean will be happy. Of course, you're full of crap when you say there is "nothing even reasonably decent" in either place, but for the most part people are too satisfied with their lives there to bother arguing with you.

Maple Avenue (and Church St) have better options than downtown McLean.

Mostly agree though that McLean needs an overall and those areas turned into charming old town Main Street vibe. It’s pretty ugly and 60s right now.

So it has good restaurants because it is “home to the orange line corridor?” I lived there for 10 years, tried so many places, was always disappointed, and confirm that it is indeed a restaurant wasteland. The upside is that living there made me a better cook.

honestly, went there this past weekend and it was not good. definitely not worth the price.

took 15 yr old DS to Best Buns? (next to matchbox) this weekend for takeout after morning event. $32 for a plain burger, fries & milkshake. Saw 2 cute young families and and older couple - so that was nice.
