Bethesda vs Vienna/GF/Reston? Violent crime in MoCo is concerning

Anonymous
I appreciate the sincere feedback, it was helpful. Now that the thread has devolved to name calling, I think it has served it’s purpose and I will not be rechecking.
Thanks,
OP

I’ve been in GF for 25 years. Been wonderful here. North Reston, also nice.

What area would you define as North Reston i.e. what are boundary roads or landmarks that delineate the area?

Just saw OP’s last post, but here’s one more substantive response:

I’m not the PP who suggested North Reston, but having grown up there (in south Reston), the Dulles Toll Road is generally the demarcation line between north and south Reston.

+1 I live in MoCo and the trajectory does concern me.

Never again ever

Why not ?
OP is going to work in VA and her kids will have a better option for public colleges.
I live in MD but I am recommending VA.

It's pretty hard to get into the top VA colleges.

VA all the way. Why pay county income tax?? Why be worried about crime? Why worry about energy tax? Why deal with a deep blue area when you can be in the middle in NOVA?

Crime is up everywhere. Anyone who thinks their DMV neighborhood or city is sheltered from crime while the rest of the DMV crime rate has gone up is moronic. Yes, crime in NOVA is up too. It's not a bubble. Sorry but a mugging in Maryland vs a teenager stealing a bicycle….

Yeah I’ll take a kid stealing a bike in VA over being mugged at gunpoint.

Just don’t get shot at Tysons.

As someone who is in Bethesda only by necessity, Virginia is a much better option overall

Literally a woman was raped at Tysons a few months ago at GUNPOINT. Where do you live? Do you not watch the news?

Clearly, your reading skills are lacking: "These crimes include arson, burglary, vandalism, robbery, motor vehicle theft, assault, homicides, kidnapping, sex offenses, and other major crimes."
A woman was raped at gunpoint at Tysons a few months ago. Where is this utopian bubble that you live in? You're funny.

OP should live wherever they want. There are differences between MoCo and NoVa but in the neighborhoods they’re probably thinking about violent crime is not a serious concern. So weird.

No one has been shot at Tysons, you moron. The one time people thought shots had been fired there it was found to have been a falling light fixture.

If you are so worried about Bethesda, move to VA, who would want to commute from Betheda to Dulles, that would suck.

Vienna has a lot of theft due to metro. Anywhere near Metro is going to get more crime. Anywhere with a lot of affluence is going to get more theft. I love Vienna but it's not the safest part of Nova.
