they are all good kids, sadly the process for them to get help is the issue. I wish our elected leaders would focus on this instead of playing games. if my kid had cancer it would take n time to get treatment but my kid suffers from depression and that brought on substance abuse. The red tape we had to go through to get treatment for a disease is unreal. |
they do other people's homework for money, they do sexual favors, they steal, they trade gift cards, they do anything they can to get the money. don't be so ......... |
| Drugs are dangerous. |
I took lots of drugs in college, never once did I pay a dime for anything. They were always just offered to me by others who had purchased. (not proud of this by the way just saying that even if you think there's no way your kid would do drugs and/or that your kid doesn't have the $$ to buy drugs, please know that they can still access and take drugs.) |
| Sorry but this is one thing I am not comfortable doing especially to a stranger. What if I am sued for not doing it correctly? |
you can't be. but nice of you to think hmm i won't help a dying person because they might sue me, oh well off to my manicure now, i hope they live. |
This, for sure. |
Thank you for writing this piece. We will get Narcan because of it. Btw, dogs are at risk too. My husband is going to get Narcan to carry while walking the dogs, not just to have in the house because of teens. |

I found this for Fairfax County Residents.
60 min. Zoom class and a FREE Narcan pack: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/community-services-board/heroin-opioids/revive I've explained to my 17yr. many times that Cannabis is not the same as it used to be. He has no idea what Fentanyl is. Kids just don't get it... |
Correct, however if you buy directly from a dispensary those odds are exceedingly low. |
+1. It’s so easy for them to be offered something at a party. I was considered a “good” kid and still tried pot with friends. |
Most states have Good Samaritan laws which protect you from any liability from helping a stranger in distress. |
Ha, sure, tell that to a teen... |
