Men who steal women’s fertility

WTF. The woman has a choice here too.

Me too. I always knew I wanted kids. My husband said he wanted kids. He knew I would never have married a man who didn't want kids. Many years later, he revealed that his plan from the start was to convince me to change my mind.

That's horrible.

She tried IVF so she could become pregnant. In a word, she was infertile and could not get pregnant even with IVF. No man stole her fertility. The fertility was not there to begin with.

What she should have done is retrieved her egg (if she had eggs), taken the sperm of her husband (or from the sperm bank) and got a surrogate to have a baby. This is becoming quite common among celebrities - Kim Kardashian, Priyanka Chopra etc.

Jennifer Aniston wanted a baby with her own genes. It is quite possible that she did not have any viable eggs to retrieve and create a baby out of. She could have had a baby through some other means though even if it was not her genes and maybe she did not want that.

I'm so sorry. Men who do this are simply awful.

This is criminal!

Total BS. you are implying women have zero agency and they cannot decide to move on from a dead-end relationship. It's women like you who perpetuate the awful cycle of "wasting one's good years"

Did any of you actually read the article? Including OP? I did, and it wasn’t her accusing anyone of stealing her fertility.

Unless you talked marriage and kids with her there was no point mentioning her medical struggles

Jennifer Aniston. Victim.

What a world.

Women are not meek, weak creatures. We are capable of making choices about our fertility. No one “stole” her fertility. If you choose to put off having kids, you have to accept the consequences. You might miss your chance.

She actually didn't say this at all. She wishes that she froze her eggs. But she didn't say that either of her husbands prevented her from having children, or that she didn't want children. She tried, and failed.

+1 No one is 'stealing' anyone's fertility. There are many ways to become a mother.

How is freezing the embryo of your ex husband a solution to infertility? And what other ways? Don’t say adoption, which is not a solution to infertility.

Freeze eggs not embryos, Genius.

Spoken by someone who does not know a lot about the infertility journey.

LOL! Sure.

Isn't it on woman to figure out the best for yourself. May be they are too afford to make the bold decision if it is not working out. There is a limit to playing victim for everything.

Women need to own every decision about their fertility and having/raising babies. Period.
Anonymous
Forcing women to carry unwanted babies is also stealing fertility

I want to add that they should have every right and power over their bodies, minds, freedom and education. They should not be married off, forced to have sex, forced into celibacy etc either.
