Tell me about living in Rockville

You are going to get a high concentration of Catholics here, btw.

I think Rockville is as far south as they can go without getting crosses burned in lawn.

Seriously Catholic University, Georgetown, the Cathedral is in DC and the President is Catholic

I think this comment was meant to be shorthand that a lot of kids will be in Catholic school, play Catholic rec league sports - they tend to self-segregate. It can impact the feel of the neighborhood and friend groups if you are not Catholic.

It’s odd you assumed it was a negative comment.

We all did, and I wasn’t even one of the posters who addressed it directly. Substitute “Jewish” and the post would be deleted.

—another non-Catholic

No it’s not . Many walk to synagogue so there are neighborhoods that are heavily Jewish. It’s not a negative thing.

Look inward each and every one of you that think a comment like that is negative.

Sometime people want to be around their church/synagogue community.

We talk about LGBT friendly too.

What does the last sentence mean? I'm confused by it. Are you saying that Rockville is or isn't LGBT friendly? Do queer people live in your neighborhood or is it all straight people?

Catholics don’t self segregate
Mormons and jews do

Convenient to 270 and the red line. The Catholic comment was surprising. I am not Catholic and have not noticed any Catholic feel. It is very diverse so nothing stands out.

This is about Kensington not Rockville.

What parts do you think do not apply to Rockville?

The comment was about Kensington/Garret park only because of Holy Redeemer and Holy Cross, it's walkable.

This was not about Rockville.
