| Whether you like it or not how you look can influence how you are perceived in an organization and that can affect career advancement. Performance is the #1 criteria but the “packaging” is also important. I’m sure there are companies out there where that’s not true but they are the minority. |

Posting reasons why you can't be bothered, or asserting it doesn't matter because you don't want it to matter doesn't change the objective reality that people react to appearances - in both social and professional contexts.
