I notice there are people at work who look, well, less than put together. Unkempt hair and wrinkled unflattering clothes, dirty shoes etc.
How is this ok? |
| How is it not okay? |
Where do you work and why do you care? You do you and worry less about others. |
| If they don’t deal with clients in person/on camera, who cares? |
| I can't imagine sitting at home at 10pm thinking about this. What is wrong with you? Get a hobby or better yet a volunteer gig. |
| I am one of those people. Thank goodness for telework. Can't believe I used to put on makeup and do my hair. |
| Maybe they are going through something at home. Why don't you talk to them? |
| I WFH 24/7 I’m not ironing my shirt just to listen to your kid scream in the background. |
| If it makes you feel any better I look sloppy all the time, not just at work. |
This is so awkward but earlier today those people were all talking about how ugly you are and how you smell like cheese. |
| It’s so dependent on role, industry, whether they’re client-facing etc. I personally am not affected by the appearance of other people though. Unless it impacts your productivity, why do you care? |
| I didn't have a change of clothes after crawling around under the raised floor. Sorry. |
| you’re worried about the wrong thing |
+1 And it never seemed like anyone cared or noticed. It didn't impact my career. It must just be you |
| It's okay because most people's jobs don't actually require them to wear flattering clothes or style their hair a certain way. Unless your looks are integral to your job, it's likely that it's not affecting their work performance. Unless they smell or their clothes are straight-up inappropriate, it's not affecting anyone else, so who cares? |
