I tried watching, but it was super boring. Rehash of the same stuff. "Trump said innaccurate and dangerous stuff!" Yeah, I know, but why are we going back over this? He's gone. He's not even in public life anymore. He is banned from everything. Even pinterest.

How any decent American can vote Republican is beyond me at this point.

They defend an autocratic, ignorant criminal who came very close to bringing down our democracy.

Please tell me that no tax cut would cause you to side with that party in 2022.

Don’t Care!!

This is all so flipping tedious. Just an immense waste of time. Trump is an idiot, and a bigot, and 100 other things. I don’t give a sh$t anymore. He’s gone. He’s irrelevant and an embarrassment to all his sycophants now trying to distance themselves.

At the same time, this was not an “insurrection”. It was a protest by a bunch of idiot rednecks, really people who would deserve pity and empathy if they weren’t so obnoxious.

But you can’t have an insurrection with no guns, no bombs, no plan to overthrow the government, and no intent to seize power and rule. That didn’t exist. It was a bunch of dumbass theatre and I’m tired of otherwise reasonable and smart people pretending that the American Government was on the brink of collapsing. Such a bunch of hysterics. Get over yourselves.

I asked above about why the Capitol Police were so woefully underprepared:

And I still don’t understand who deliberately underarmed the Capitol Police that day.

The GOP as a whole didn’t attempt it.

But a handful of very powerful people did.

And now 99% of the GOP defends it.

You can’t tell me that the GOP as a whole didn’t know what was going on and from November 3 forward did nothing to stop it, and, as you say 99% of them defend it now. The GOP attempted a coup.

Who is defending it? Show me your math for 99%

Not PP but that’s about the percentage of Republicans who voted against establishing the bipartisan 9/11-style commission.

I don't know why they can't follow Liz Cheney. I mean, her father meant something in the GOP, and she is a respected leader in her own right. Why do they go for the crazy?

And what does that say about our populous.

She has courage, integrity and a brain.
Because the voters want trump.

Not Liz Cheney.

They had bombs.
Anonymous

The crowd wanted to stop the election certification.

They did not need bombs for that.

They killed police officers without bombs or guns.

They could have killed congresspeople, senators or the VP if they had found them.

Again, you cannot claim that just because you did not find a bomb, and just because congress was able to evacuate -sometimes by a few seconds!!! - and no elected representative was kidnapped or assassinated, that THERE WAS NO INTENT. The intent is perfectly documented and clear.

Just because the attempted coup failed, it doesn't mean it did not exist.

Yes, the current crop of swamp creatures are even too vile for the Cheneys and Bushes.

I distinctly remember more but it may not be public yet.
