Is Potomac still including the Lucy Calkins 3-cueing metgod among the several literacy methods in their Lower School instruction? Or have they _totally_ stopped using 3-cueing?

We are at WES and love it. Very happy with academics and community. Convenient location is a perk— kids access the nearby pizza and ice cream shops, as well as downtown Bethesda, independently. It’s just an added bonus.

NPS uses Orton Gillingham.

And Lucy Calkins. Almost exclusively in the upper grades.

I have multiple kids at NPS, including a graduate. They use a really terrific phonics-based OG reading program in the early grades. In early grades, they use some of the LC writing program. They also explicitly teach spelling and cursive. 4-6 the writing instruction is not LC anymore. I have been happy, especially with the 6th grade writing instruction. It’s lots of structured persuasive writing and grammar instruction.
