What did protestor say at Abbott press conference?

The proper venue for these discussions is in our state legislatures. Before grandstanding about children, remember your proposed solutions ignore the Second Amendment right to protect ourselves against government tyranny. It’s tragic when children die, but children die every day. Haven’t we learned from Covid that we need to get thicker skin. The cure can’t be worse than the disease. I agree with the Governor that we have to accept things happen and try to help mental health so that we deal with the root issue, not distractions.

We got ourselves a bona fide fascist right here! “We must maintain civility!” “He must be arrested for trespassing!” “Be proper!”

The root cause is that the GOP - including you, fascist PP - is a pack of amoral thugs who are for party and profit over anything else. Imagine saying your turd ball of a post’s content to the parents of the dead children. If they weren’t out of their minds with grief, I’m sure they’d tell you where to get off.

I was never a big fan of Trump but you know what I find myself taking his advice more and more. And I'm about to grab every Republican by their f****** pussies. We need change and we need it now. HR8 is sitting there and the Senate refuses to even vote on it.

He cannot allow Abbott to have the stage when he has a campaign to run........

Question is....... What is his stance on gun rights now? Is he for 2A or against 2A? Does he still want to confiscate everyone's AR-15?
He has been on both sides of the fence on this issue.... where does he stand now?

No, Abbott is the one pulling the political stunt. What other reason could there be to justify the murder of children? He needs to appease the NRA to stay in power.

Do you even hear yourself? He was providing updates on this horrible crime like governors do.
Beto couldn't help himself. He will never be governor and likely never hold elected office again.

I would wager my paycheck that Beto is interviewed on MSNBC before the day is through. And, he will be hailed a hero by the left for interrupting a press conference in which authorities were updating the public and mourning the loss of lives.

Most governors try to protect their citizens and not get rid of common sense gun laws like he just did a couple weeks ago

There’s no evidence whatsoever that the “parents of victims” were screaming at Beto.

DP no Abbott is grandstanding. Talking about law enforcement, good guys with guns who were the heroes after 19 children were killed. Abbott and those other NRA thugs on stage are totally failures. Come Friday they will be in the private suite at the NRA convection laughing and joking about the dead children. How much you want to bet there will be tshirt with children as targets. You need a reality check.

Yeah, he couldn't give an update if he'll be at the NRA convention on Friday. Of course he'll be there, but he knows it'd be tone deaf to say so right now, so instead of giving a firm "yes" or "no", he just says he's "living by the moment".

Beto is a hero AFAIC. Whatever he's done, even if its only to interrupt Abbott's presser with questions people want to know the answers to, it's 10000x more than that useless sack Abbott has done.

You're just playing partisan games and stomping all over the bodies of these dead children.

Everyone of those republicans on stage need to resign. If you can not keep the little children safe you have failed in your duties.

Did you say the same about the democrats after Sandy Hook?

Democrats aren’t in bed with the gun lobbyists. It’s the GOP that are lapping up NRA funds and literally blocking any attempt to keep things links assault weapons out of gun stores. Heck you have GOP leaders like Margorie Taylor Green and Lauren Boebert suggesting Sandy Hook is a “false flag” and Margorie Taylor Green harassing students from the Parkland massacre. Don’t pretend like there’s any equivalence on thr Democratic side.

There isn’t.

You clearly did NOT watch the press conference if this is your take.
And, your final comments are just sick.

So is Abbott going to call back The bill that he signed allowing even more people to get guns easier in Texas?? Is he strongly encouraging Texas senators to vote on HR 8?

I just hope that Republicans welcome any and all gun carriers to their press conferences and public speaking events because as we all know the more guns there are in a location, the safer everyone will be.

This is silly. We could get somewhere on this issue if people stopped stuff like this.

Nothing moved the needle and nothing ever will. People looked the other way in 2012 and that moral stain will never leave them. If nothing is going to matter no matter what, then I have no problem with at least making it uncomfortable for R's to be complicit aholes. I hope every stage they stand on gets stormed by someone so furious about this they can't keep it in.

DP. I'm not sure what your post is supposed to accomplish besides venting.

If you look around, you'll see that this school shooting is moving the needle. Not for Abbott, now. But for others who are more influential. Look around, watch. Change doesn't happen instantaneously but it happens.

I was like, deeply traumatized by sandy hook. I don't mean that in a 'make it about me' way but I just lost all hope. I'm not sure how to regain it, because dwelling too hard on those deaths and these deaths makes me too upset to function, knowing that again, nothing will happen. And giving myself a kernel of hope simply makes it hurt more when it doesn't happen again. I wonder how many more kids will die until the needle moves enough to save some of them. How many more bodies will pile up that could have been saved.

I watched it, I’m not the PP though. Beto is saying what’s on my mind for sure. I’m not sure I could be at that press conference and not say anything myself.

That's why the public needs to be allowed to carry guns into Congress. See how they feel.
