Everyone of those republicans on stage need to resign. If you can not keep the little children safe you have failed in your duties.

This is silly. We could get somewhere on this issue if people stopped stuff like this.

You can't say "even after this". There aren't any polls out yet.

Sandy Hook was an outlier, an aberration, a one-off. This was just a regular school shooting, not something that can be set aside.

I can say after this. If Sandy Hook did not move people -- and it did not -- if anything hardened views then this will not.

Okay. We can agree to disagree.

A stunt by Beto. Nothing to see here.

Id only the Dems were in control of Congress and the White House - then we would see real action in gun violence.

Oh.

Gun nuts could maybe grow a trace of self awareness on this. Abbott and the GOP keep putting in the work to kill more kids.

Nothing moved the needle and nothing ever will. People looked the other way in 2012 and that moral stain will never leave them. If nothing is going to matter no matter what, then I have no problem with at least making it uncomfortable for R's to be complicit aholes. I hope every stage they stand on gets stormed by someone so furious about this they can't keep it in.

Your post screams “fck those dead children; no one cares about them.” You must be a Republican.

DP. I'm not sure what your post is supposed to accomplish besides venting.

If you look around, you'll see that this school shooting is moving the needle. Not for Abbott, now. But for others who are more influential. Look around, watch. Change doesn't happen instantaneously but it happens.

+1

The only ones profiting on the deaths of children are the NRA and the republicans who enable them. Including Abbott.

We must maintain civility in our public discourse. How dare O’Rourke interrupt a press conference where the Governor addresses the mental health problems that caused this tragedy! What a callous, awful Democrat. I hope the Governor arrests O’Rourke for trespassing.

The proper venue for these discussions is in our state legislatures. Before grandstanding about children, remember your proposed solutions ignore the Second Amendment right to protect ourselves against government tyranny. It’s tragic when children die, but children die every day. Haven’t we learned from Covid that we need to get thicker skin. The cure can’t be worse than the disease. I agree with the Governor that we have to accept things happen and try to help mental health so that we deal with the root issue, not distractions.

Someone has to do it. Someone has to express the rage that we are feeling.
