What Would You Do - Strong Public Middle or Average Private?

Note - it sounds like the academics are good. The issue is whatever batch of kids are in the class this year that don’t seem to give two fawks.

Some of the kids were filling their time with meanness and bullying, in addition to being totally unmotivated to work (despite all the marketing from the school about its approach to learning). The school is so worried about its branding and reputation that they don't want to run right at the hard stuff. Super sad.

This is OP. What state is your school in?

If you are at our school, this is not some tiny school in a church basement. And if you keep your child there, OP, I would encourage you to really talk with them about the whole school experience. For example, how are they going to handle it if a bunch of kids share an answer key that someone bought or found online? What do they do if they stumble into someone vaping in the bathroom? We walked through the ethical quandaries that kids can stumble into, even in middle school.
