| Why do you care what other people say about their pets? Why don’t you have a life? |
Neat. We don’t care what you think. |
Again, your opinion is irrelevant. That and $5 will get you a Frappuccino at Starbucks. |
Your kids are special to no one except you. |
OK consider me weird then. I refer to my husband to my dog as daddy. I am mommy. It's just the two of us (empty nesters) and the dog. We can't be the only people who do that. That said, I would never refer to my dog as my child. |
+1 |
| I mean, they know they aren't *literally* children. It's how they feel about their furry dependents. |
| I came here hoping to see comments from brunch grandma lol |
| Yes. Yes I do. |
| Kind of and I have two kids. She's absolutely family. |
| When people do this I assume they are big-hearted and have a lot of love to give. I have a cat (no dogs, though I enjoy them) and while I'd never refer to him as my child, I know one reason I became a pet owner is that I wanted to care for someone. I also have a child and obviously understand those relationships are different. But if someone doesn't have kids, I could see them channeling that nurturing and loving energy to their pets and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. |
How do you think a pet sees the person who cares for them? I've been my dog's caregiver since she was eight weeks old. For all intents and purposes, I am her mother. |
I think of my dog as my companion and friend. But I find "owner" more strange than "parent". |
Mine when he could see well came up to me and we hugged everyday. He would put his paw around me and kiss me when I was reeling in sadness over the loss of our older pup. Raised him from a puppy to senior and sorry but your comment is cold and you come off like uncaring. FYI my aunt had a pup who lived to be 22. At that age they are not just your dogs but family. |
| I sometimes call my dogs my fur babies, but I don't dress them up or anything it is just a term of affection. I didn't realize that this was so offensive to some people! |
