The brazilification of America continues

How did this guy get to be top Sheriff in Mecklenberg County, NC?

Watch 14 minutes into the video. The exchange is only 90 seconds.

Are you surprised? Are you really surprised?

Brazilian here. Y’all are putting us to shame. There has always been corruption in the US btw; it’s just never been so in your face.

PP here. My bad I read title and thought you were talking about the US government being corrupt and doing things like essentially selling pardons. First, I would say road rage shoot outs are more American than Brazilian. Second-yes, a widening income gap will lead to worse crime. So even if you only care about you & yours, income disparity impacts everyone. Think security everywhere, wired fences to keep people out, etc.

Then stop creating the conditions that cause income disparity. I can assure the more you try to push policy and regulation to lower it, the higher it becomes b/c of the second and third order effects of those policies.

Crimes is bad in the US because of the growing inequity in our society. The rich are getting super rich and the poor are getting desperate.

The other link is about California.

I’m a dem — I’m sorry, California is a DUMP!

I will never ever ever ever understand why liberals have such a hard on for California and never talk about Massachusetts, which is the superior model for liberal living and governance.

I mean I have my theories but I won’t get into them.

Liberals love Massachusetts! That’s why it’s a completely blue state. I think California is too big to call the whole state a dump. There are dumpy parts but some areas are still nice.

Local politicians in shootouts after road raging themselves

Train robbers

The 🇺🇸 is so cringe. I have a genuine question for wealthy people who post here — why do you live here and haven’t just bought something in New Zealand or Switzerland or Austria yet?

Seriously? A former state level political staffer does something stupid and that is supposed to be newsworthy?

Well, at the very least it is funny: Bald-headed Uncle Fester-looking Trumpian douchebag attacks another driver, then shoots at them. But then he eats lead at the hands of the other driver and gets a one-way ticket to douchetown. No charges filed. Thoughts-n-Prayers!

How would you address it?

Seeing Rubio and aoc speak at Munich, laying out their grand visions of what America’s posture to the world should be; one couched in Cuban reactionary thought the other in boricua communism is just a sad sight to see.

Hillary Clinton was at Munich as well and it underscores how nothing good will come to Democrats if we embrace the above.

Really good interview with Wagner Moura today on the Pod Save America podcast covering this - worth a listen.

You are what you eat. The country is who you bring into the country.

Can we bring over 23 million Taiwanese and 124 million Japanese people?

Solves the China - Taiwan issue

We get an influx of high human capital with 150 million Japanese + Taiwanese.
