Brazil is dangerous AF. Have you even ever been there? OP actually downplayed how dangerous Brazil is, especially at night. Rio and Sao Paolo are very scary places if you don't know where you are going.

So it’s okay to put down all of DC because there are some areas that are dangerous (for a whole host of socioeconomic factors, mind you). Got it.

Spoken entirely like someone who has never set foot in Brazil, let alone Sao Paolo or Rio. You are woefully naive if you think the bad parts of DC are even remotely as scary as Rio and Sao Paolo at night. It is so obvious you've never been there.

The Brazilian interior is even more lethal! So many people just disappear.

Yes, it's okay to mock the favelas of Rio, but if you don't consider Mogadishu a viable vacation destination, you're a racist. Got it.

Crimes is bad in the US because of the growing inequity in our society. The rich are getting super rich and the poor are getting desperate.

The other link is about California.

I’m a dem — I’m sorry, California is a DUMP!

I will never ever ever ever understand why liberals have such a hard on for California and never talk about Massachusetts, which is the superior model for liberal living and governance.

I mean I have my theories but I won’t get into them.

Fantastic seafood, world class wine, amazing weather and ocean views. End of.

And don’t forget all the bums, druggies, sidewalk tents, piles of feces and used needles you can stand!

The 🇺🇸 is so cringe. I have a genuine question for wealthy people who post here — why do you live here and haven’t just bought something in New Zealand or Switzerland or Austria yet?

Because this is by far and not even close the best place in the world to live. NZ is a s'hole country. Possibly nice to visit but do you wonder why so many leave? Switz is fine but why live there. Austria sucks as does almost all of Europe.

With the possible exception of Canada, outside of the US -- the whole world is a s'hole.

I'm not suggesting California is a great place to live. I'm explaining it appeal. I love visiting California and pre pandemic spent a lot of time there. It would be a great place to be extremely rich, in a gorgeous glass house perched on Monterey Bay.

Ok as an aside, honest question.

Why does California have such a feces problem?

Dc and nyc have unhoused people as well but people don’t take dumps on the streets/sidewalks here.

California has a homeless population 11x larger than New York. So its really not comparable.

Also the approach to the homeless population is vastly different. For example, the city of San Francisco designated homeless people as "emergency workers" and put them up in the storied Mark Hopkins Intercontinental hotel. https://nypost.com/2020/06/27/san-franciscos-failed-experiment-of-homeless-hotels-is-a-cautionary-tale/

Spoken like someone who believes what they read on the internet. Neither Sao Paulo nor Rio are in the top 50 most dangerous cities. But Baltimore is. So are St. Louis, Detroit and New Orleans.

And yes, I have been all over Brazil. In fact, I lived in Sao Paulo. I also lived in DC when it was the murder capital of the US.

One of LA's homeless just put an ER nurse in critical condition......

A Los Angeles County nurse was hospitalized in critical condition Thursday after being attacked by a homeless man in the downtown area, officials said.

The unidentified nurse was attacked at the Union Station bus stop on E. Caesar Chavez Avenue, just after 5 a.m., FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported.

During the assault, the assailant, who law enforcement said was a homeless man in his 40s, punched the nurse in the head, causing her to fall and strike her head against the ground, the station reported.

It's important for people to actually see the images along the railroad in LA.
Can't believe environmentalists aren't making a stink.

Like there are stretches of Indian railways that are cleaner in 2022!
