Not true if you expect to get money. |
Talent finds a way. |
Tell us the way |
Same way you don't need an elite education in math, or writing, or engineering, or chemistry.or whatever..you don't need an elite education in soccer. Not necessary. |
Okay - I’m what league are the players getting scholarships? |
Refuge of the talentless. If you do not have actual confidence in yourself or your kid, lean on league affiliation. Leagues don’t get scholarships. Clubs don’t scholarships. Teams don’t get scholarships. Players get scholarships. |
The greatest concentration of talent in the nation is in the ECNL. Its where kids get recruited. Not everyone - but the majority |
| A similar argument can be made for the talent found in our top colleges and universities. There is a concentration of talent....not all...but a significant concentration. I mean suit yourselves, but I want the open heart surgery from the surgeon that trained at Harvard or the like if I can get it. |
| Not the grades you think they have |
|
This discussion are nonsensical.
Basically, if you want to play high level soccer while also preparing for a demanding career, you can do both. Any top 50 ECNL player will have options even if they way until May of senior year. |
You are dreaming...if you want to go to MIT or Columbia or Harvard or a place where you are not one of their few recruits that year but can get in anyway.....GO. play club or something. Seriously. |
No go play at some no name college. Travel soccer is about playing in college. Who would do it otherwise- All year training, constant pressure to keep your spot, get injury lose your position, etc. |
What a sad person you are. |
You are just wrong. My kid is a junior has played since U9 and is being actively recruited as a 2023. She didnt play travel soccer to get recruited. Her network of friends she has made has been great. It fulfills her competitive nature and she loves the sport. At this point she is deciding if D1,2 or 3 is the best fit for her to pursue secondarily to her education. This is her not me. Not every kid that plays travel has aspirations of D1 or pro or ... |
| Going pro is overrated |
