When Will MCPS Quarantine Rules Change?

Those of you who are in denial about this are sad, and what's worse, your kids have probably already had it at least once and given it to others.

In ten years, I hope you don't expect me to be responsible for their long term health problems.

Bootstraps!

Don’t worry, you will most definitely be responsible for the consequences of the kids being out of school for a year, plus all the kids missing days at a time due to unnecessary quarantine.

Ask anyone who works with kids/teens/young adults about the mental health status of our youth. Ask them how the closures and quarantines and bad public health policies affected education. The answers are depressing and disturbing.

You’re not doing anyone any favors with your extreme views and myopic fear-mongering.

Kids were not out of school for a year. For a few weeks.

If your kids have mental health issues get them help and stop expecting the schools to parent.

I want their kids to catch it so their kids get more immunity and it makes school safer for mine.

When will we see adjustments to the quarantine policies that are putting an unnecessary burden on our kids and caregivers? Who do we contact to get movement on this issue?

Better question when will the mask wearing stop. It’s just ridiculous.

500 kids in the US (not including around the world) have died of covid. Many have had long term issues. TO say they are not in harms way makes you the worse covid denier there is.

In 2019, 608 children aged 12 or younger died in car crashes in the US; more than 91,000 were injured. These numbers are appallingly high, and they don't even include children aged 13-17. Please stop being a traffic violence denier and start advocating for safer streets. I'm not being snarky. I mean that sincerely.

We are not talking about car crashes.

We're talking about things that kill or cause long-term harm to children, which we could make far less hazardous, if we chose to.

This is the MCPS forum. I don't know about your child, but my child did not set foot in school between March 13, 2020, and April 26, 2021.

What?

This is the MCPS forum. Schools in other parts of the country may have been open.

MCPS kids were not allowed in school buildings for over a year. April 2020 - August 2021

We ARE talking about risk.

The risk of a child dying in a car crash is much greater than the risk of a child dying due to Covid.

Thankfully we're not talking about Covid anymore. That's gotten so boring. Almost all kids are back in the classrom so moving on...

Are they really claiming opting into surveillance testing or rapid (not test to stay) symptomatic testing will *reduce* quarantines? That's horrible if they are. The truth is exactly the opposite. Until they roll out test to stay, surveillance testing and symptomatic rapid testing only means *more* unnecessary quarantines.
