Dropped my newly 3 year old son off this morning, and he didn't want to give me a good by kiss, kind of turned his head etc. The teacher says " Come on mom! not in front of the girls!" Her tone was joking and I just said " Too bad mommy will always get her kisses girls or not ." and went on my way.
But, her comment kind of bugged me and seemed a little unprofessional. Am I reading too much into it? |
| You're overthinking it. Not unprofessional. |
| Def overthinking it |
| Its preschool. It was a bit strange of a comment and I would have responded as you did and taken my kiss. You are overthinking it |
| Aww she was probably just trying to be funny and you don't share her sense of humor. Don't worry. |
This. She was trying to make light of the fact that you weren't getting a reciprocal kiss. NBD |
| Oh. My. God. Please tell me you're joking. |

Yeah, that's overthinking it.
I think preschool teachers have a lot of big personalities to deal with. This is completely benign. Cut her some slack. |
|
This makes me scared to ever be a teacher.
It was a joke. Chill. |
| Overthinking. |
You are way overthinking this. There's nothing unprofessional about it. |
+1 |
| Oh Jesus. |
|
Not only are you misinterpreting what was obviously a joke, but you assigned malicious intent and responded in a bizarre fashion which could have legitimately be interpreted as obnoxious.
Lighten up, Lady. And how do you expect to teach your son "no means no" when you routinely force him to kiss you? Befuddling. |
