MOMMY WILL ALWAYS GET HER KISSES

This. She was trying to make light of the fact that you weren't getting a reciprocal kiss. NBD

She was giving both you and him an "out." That's all. It was meant to be helpful since drop off can be hard on parents. It was meant as a kindness, and yes, I am Team Smother Him with Kisses, so I'm glad you were able to sneak one in.

People who work around young children tend to have a "tongue-in-cheek" sense of humor.

This is an asset that serves them well for their profession.

She sounds like an awesome teacher & you should be grateful that your son has her as his teacher!

Sorry, but yes.....You definitely dropped the ball in your response to her.

Loosen up a little bit & try not to take things in life too seriously.
Learn to laugh at life more often as well as choose your battles wisely.

Is English a second language for you, OP? Did you grow up in the US?

Trying to understand why you're taking offense to such a benign joke...

Hey! English is my second language and I did not grow up in the U.S. I would have laughed and tried for a high five with my son and left it at that.
Give immigrants a little credit, we're not crazy just because we didn't grow up here.

Is this real? She was making a friendly joke. Get a sense of humor.

What I dislike about what you said in response is that you were not respecting your son's body language to you, that he didn't want physical affection.

Agreed. She was making a joke and it's nbd, although I hate it when people say these sorts of things it's culturally normal and not meant to be offensive.

And I also wouldn't make my kid be physically affectionate if she was resisting.

Her tone was joking and I just said " Too bad mommy will always get her kisses girls or not ." and went on my way.
But, her comment kind of bugged me and seemed a little unprofessional.
Am I reading too much into it?

Considering that teaching preschool isn't a profession, yes, you're overthinking it.

Oh goodness. I didn't say immigrants were crazy. Some people who don't speak a language natively or didn't grow up in that country have trouble understanding humor in that country/language.

Lighten up Mrs. Goldberg

Lighten up, Lady.

And how do you expect to teach your son "no means no" when you routinely force him to kiss you? Befuddling.

This. She was joking lady.
