Yes. Perhaps when you arrive, you could check to see if any are still available. Otherwise, you might be taking a room from someone who actually needs it. I don't see the difference between this and a non-handicapped person parking in the handicapped spot because it's more convenient or is bigger.

No. You might get lucky and get it, but you can absolutely not reserve it ahead of time. That's like taking a handicapped parking space.

They typically aren't bigger rooms, they are standard size rooms with larger doorways, accessible door handles, accessible showers and bathrooms, etc.

You're not going to get a bigger room at most hotels. Just bigger doorways and an accessible shower. Do you really need those things when overall space is the same?

In addition to the fact that they're not bigger, they're often right near exterior doorways and on the first floor so they can be noisy as hell. Adding to that, they have doorbells with flashing lights that drunk jackoffs like to ring in the middle of the night.

I used to end up with them all the time. Just ask when you check in. I think they are rarely requested, so I got them when I checked in from a late flight.

The big difference is usually a big bathroom with grab bars, and sometimes a "wheel in" shower. I never found them particularly desirable.

Yep, I got put in one pretty much every time I checked in after 9:30 PM when traveling for work.

Chances are the hotel would love to put you in that room. They are ground floor, and often perceived as not as nice. Just ask.

I am disabled, and I have come across issues when there are no accessible rooms left.
