Kind of a spinoff from the "Trump is himself surprised" thread. I don't think he's actually going to govern, and will cede a lot to other people. Will that be Pence? Someone else? (You know how when an organization merely has a figurehead and the remaining people with a glimmer of power fight to fill the vacuum?).
Just wondering what others think. Whose agenda will we really get, and what will that mean for the country? |

he is evil. if rbg, breyer, or kennedy dies - roe v wade is FINISHED.
He will spear head the attack on that and reprodcutive/womens health. |

Pence will be tasked to help keep the conservative bloc close to the WH. But he will have limited impact if Trump operates along the lines of making deals with the Ds to get things done.
He will end up being Trump's apologist. |

Pence was Trump's olive branch to the GOP Congress.
Will be interesting to see if Pence and Trump get along. Trump has to be aware that Pence is angling for his office, in case things get crazy or charges are filed. If he feels disrespected, he may demand Pence's resignation. That would start an all out war with the Republican leadership. |

Pence is pretty dangerous. He is anti gay/ LGTB in a BIG way, he believes in conversion therapy, he is super pro life, he is part of the christian right and has super weird viewpoints on marriage and women (for ex., him and his wife agree that he cannot go to a party or gathering without his wife if alcohol is served because him drinking without his wife around is too tempting and dangerous, I don't know the back story but this is true). He pushed for and signed into the law the funerals for aborted fetuses bill, and the freedom of religion law for business to deny service to gays, and he does so without any guilt or apologies. He's pretty hard core.
Periods for Pence or Periods for Politicians is an action group based out of Indiana that was formed in response to the fetus funeral/ abortion law. They follow him and his policies very closely. You can find their fb page. |

\ You are such an optimist! I think Dems will be too afraid of a Pence administration (with good reason, he's actually the devil!) to try to impeach Trump. Whoever Trump would replace Pence with, I'm sure he couldn't be any worse. So, Pence pisses off Trump, Trump demands resignation, someone less evil replaces Pence, Dems impeach Trump, less evil person takes over. I could live with that. |

Mike Pence is the player, and the RNC favorite. Trump is a useful engine. Pence will be the one in charge. When Trump either outlives his usefulness, or makes one too many bad choices, he will be removed.
