I feel compelled to point out that 160 years ago slavery existed in the US. And 50 years ago, women could not open a credit card. And 105 years ago, the 19th amendment passed. Thankfully we have evolved.

I don’t know what the point is in lecturing posters on the specific terms associated with paraphilia. And as someone who also worked on child exploitation and obscenity cases for years (including cases involving 15-16 year olds), I find this post very odd.

DP and I worked as an investigator for years. I have no doubt this former prosecutor mostly shamed the victims into dropping cases. The system would be well rid of these people.

Since she is still alive, I'd guess that she has some sort of backup plan in place. Like in case she dies, what information she has, gets released to the public (by her lawyer, friend, someone anonymous, presumably).

That’s my guess too as to why she is alive today. There’s also the thought that killing two closely related people would seem too suspicious. But I do not think that alone would stop them from trying.

Will they be released? With the 218 signatures on the discharge, the House has to vote. Then the Senate will have to vote and my understanding is it is unlikely to make it through the Senate, is that correct?

It is worse than that.

Trump would have to sign it into law.

Look at how hard he is trying to avoid being the one to squash it.

One could hope that when the votes come, the House and Senate have enough to override a veto. Now getting the AG to actually release the documents is another hurdle.

No one thinks the law will pass and take effect. The point of the discharge petition was to force a public vote on who in Congress defends sex trafficking of minors.

Forcing Trump to veto it will be legacy-defining. Of everything he's done, this will be one of the historical standout moments given his involvement with Epstein. And it will be the ultimate betrayal of his promises to MAGA.

They can also overturn his veto.
