| We want to take our kids to swim with Dolphins. My girls will be 7 and 9. They're both great swimmers. Are they too young? Do these types of places have age limits? Even i they do not, do you think they would be too young. I have never done it. What is this type of experience like? What should I be concerned about? |
| You should be concerned about the plight of captured Dolphins and not support their continued maltreatment. |
: This should help OP: http://bfy.tw/8Kyh |
| Not too young. I took my kids at 5 and 7. |
| My kids were 3 5 and 6 |
Meh. I eat animals. I guess that's worse. |
| They (and everyone else) should not swim with dolphins at all. Period. |
+ 1. We took our 5 and 7 yr old and they loved it. The concern is whether your children will be afraid of the dolphins or not. Otherwise, nothing to worry about. |
| If they served it with balsamic vinaigrette and a chianti, I'd eat a dolphin...*shrug* |
| I wonder if it tastes more like salmon, or tuna... |
| How strong of a swimmer do you need to be? DW can't swim that well but the kids are great swimmers. DW can float but I wouldn't call her a strong swimmer. Don't they usually wear life jackets? Kids want to do this, but I'll feel bad leaving my wife behind. |
|
You don't. "Swim" is used very optimistically. They would never exclude the huge amount of people who can't swim from being able to particapate. You basically stand on a ledge in a pool and the dolphins come to you. You wear life jackets.
Are you doing this as part of a Disney cruise excursion? |
| OP here - no cruise for us. We would book an excursion from our hotel |
+1. People who think dolphins are so cute but who don't give a damn how they were captured and how they are treated are just amazing. Breathtaking. |
+2. And it has nothing to do with eating animals. I eat meat too but I don't think any animal deserve that kind of treatment. And to take your kids? Disgusting. |
