I know many hotel rooms have 2 double or queen beds and we've been able to stay in a normal hotel room with our 2 boys. I'm now pregnant with a baby girl.
Can we stay in a normal hotel room and request a crib? We can also bring our pack n play or newborn rocker. Would like to hear from BTDT parents of 3. |
Two rooms. You and baby in one, DH and boys in another. Saving $130 a night is not worth everyone's comfort.
Yes, you can stay in one room.
I guess, but who the hell would want to? We always get a suite or two adjoining rooms.
Bring a PNP. We went to a hotel and the crib was old, not to code and the mattress didn't fit. We ran out and got a PNP>
This. You can do that at most hotels. Although, be sure to check occupancy rules... often 5 to a room is allowed and/or an infant doesn't count, but that's not always the case. However, that sounds rather miserable to me and I would try to get a suite or two rooms for more space to spread out a bit. |
If it's for one night we do just stay in one room. If it's longer, we get two rooms or stay in a suite so we can close the kids off in one room and maintain some semblance of comfort.
Suite or adjoining rooms with a door. One night might be fine but a crying baby will wake everyone else if you're in the same room.
Of course it's possible by why would you ever do this absent some sort of emergency? Sounds like hell.
"Cribs" in hotels are often cheap pnps. If you have your own and have space, bring it. 5 in the room for one night is no big deal.
Always stay in one, but sometimes have to say it is only 4
We do. Kids are 5, 3, and 22 months. We get a king room and bring sleeping bags for the older two, baby in pnp. Hotel beds are high off the ground and I don't want my two falling out. They like having asleep over. Sometimes I do have to say 4 guests, as it won't let me make the reservation for 5. I know as they get older our arrangements will change. It just saves is some money now. DH and I spend a little time hanging out in the bathroom until the kids fall asleep and then we can go in and watch TV. Works for us for now.
You hang out in the bathroom? That sounds terrible. |
Depends. A hotel in Phoenix park as going to kick us out for this as a fire code violatiOn. I had to beg to stay as it was 10 pm and they had no other rooms. So if you do it, don't have the whole family go to the check in desk.
Do you people who stay 5 in a room despite the rules also dine and dash?
