Granted, I'm pretty salty this morning due to a family medical situation, but I was shocked as a watched the girl at DD use her full palm to shove the lid on my coffee...and she wasn't wearing gloves (not that it would have made much of a difference, but at least for the sake of appearances). So I said to the guy who handed me the cup, "Shouldn't she be wearing gloves if she's handling the lids...and touching the area where people drink from?" He rolled his eyes and she rolled her eyes and sighed. I asked for the cup and a new lid so I could replace it myself.
Just curious what you've noticed when getting your coffee and what your comfort level is? |
| I mean this kindly: I think you're stressed and overreacting a bit, and I could be described as a germaphobe. |
| You are old enough to drink coffee and just noticed this? |
|
I'd let it go. I can guarantee you have exposed yourself to more germs in other situations this morning.
If your immune system is that delicate, make your coffee at home. |
| Make your own coffee. Please don't ruin this for us normal people. |
| And if she had not put the lid on correctly and the coffee spilled, you'd be complaining about that. Direct your anger and stress where it belongs. Not at the minimum wage coffee girl. |
| This bugs me too, but I just get another lid and let it go or drink it without the lid. Actually the same germs are probably somewhere else your mouth touches. Immune systems are wonderful things! |
| Get a few wet napkins of paper towel and wipe off your coffee lid each time. Should be good enough for a long term germaphobe even. |

No of course they don't wear gloves.
Deal with it. The way you suggest we go, everyone will be walking around in surgical masks like they do in China. Ridiculous! |
| Gems don't work this way |
| There are germs everywhere. Do you touch any surface in public?! |
| I used to work in coffee shops - no one wears gloves. Think the line is long now? Adding gloves would be a huge impediment. |
| You are just in a bad mood this morning, happens to the best of us. I hope your family medical situation improves soon. |
| You probably came in contact with millions more germs from the door handle than the coffee lid. |
|
But they wear gloves to pick up the donuts?
And I'm pretty sure they wear gloves at McDonalds. |
