Did you make padcicles? Were they helpful?

I keep seeing on Pinterest. Basically jumbo pads with witch hazel and aloe Vera gel that you freeze to use after delivery. Wondering if they are really useful after a vaginal delivery?

Yes. Loved them.

They're not suoer absorbent, bc they already have stuff in them, but man, they felt so good to wear for half an hour or so--esp. after the shower. I'd say I went through 20 or so.

I made a ton and just threw them out. They froze together in a way where they just ripped when I opened them. I'm still using tucks two weeks out.

+1. Yes, amazing. My mom and sister made then while I was in labor. To avoid the problem PP had with freezing, take them out of the packaging, put the stuff on them, fold in half (not thirds), then wrap in tin foil. No sticking together issues with mine.

I didn't really make them, but I'd freeze some witch hazel pads. That helped. Plus, I only really needed them for two or three days.

YES. My husband made them, LOL.

And like PP, I put them on after a shower and ahhhhhh. Bliss! Seriously felt so good.

If you make them like that and roll them back into the plastic wrapper then they don't stick.

They give them to you at the hospital.

They gave something similar to me at the hospital. Honestly, I felt fine after 3 or 4 days.

Ah- the cooter hoagie as my friend called it. Used the ones thy made me in the hospital- loved them but didn't need it after 25 hours as I didn't tear with any of my births.

If you're delivering at VHC they have ice packs for your vag, only thing was they didnt absorb the blood but the ice pack helped a bunch! I had no problem asking for more for me to take home

You can also split a baby diaper along the layers and fill it with crushed ice.

My nurse told me to stop applying ice after 24 hours so stuff could heal. I didn't use cold pads after I left the hospital. They gave me some while I was there.

I didn't. Had a second degree tear but it really wasn't that bad after a few days. Actually what was really helpful for me was the peri bottle & sitz bath. Definitely take a sitz bath from the hospital, that helps you heal a lot faster!

Bought them from Amazon. Seriously who has time. Used them for counter pressure during BMs but didn't want to sit on a thick pad at home. Hospital will give you tons too.

I just used the giant pads, ice packs, and witch hazel pads they gave me at the hospital (VHC).
